Northshore Fire Approves Contract for Services with Shoreline Fire

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Shoreline, Wash. – On Tuesday, February 1st the Board of Fire Commissioners for the Northshore Fire Department voted unanimously to approve a contract for full services with the Shoreline Fire Department.

The decision to contract with Shoreline will enhance existing services to the citizens of Shoreline, Kenmore and Lake Forest Park. Shoreline and Northshore Firefighters have been training and responding together on emergency calls for decades. Shoreline Paramedics have been also been responding to incidents to these same communities, Bothell and Woodinville.

Shoreline Fire Chief, Matt Cowan stated “We are excited for the chance to combine two great fire service providers to more efficiently serve the citizens of Lake Forest Park, Kenmore, and Shoreline. We have a long history of working collaboratively and the integration of our organizations will improve services to both districts. We have had tremendous support from our citizens for many decades and this great relationship will not change. We are committed to continuing with all our programs and being able to do even more. This contract for services is a great opportunity to improve service delivery and save taxpayer money, which is a win for everyone.”

There will not be any change in 911 services or emergency responses. If anyone has questions about this contract please feel free to contact Fire Chief Matt Cowan at mcowan@shorelinefire.com.
