City of Shoreline - Fire System Permits
Generally, all work being performed on a fire protection system requires a fire permit. Most work will require a full submittal and plans review, but some smaller work may be an over the counter permit.

For fire permits located within the City of Shoreline: All permits whether full submittals or over the counter are through the City of Shoreline Planning and Community Development. For instructions on submitting an over the counter contact the Fire Marshals Office (contact info below).
Kenmore/Lake Forest Park - Fire System Permits

Sprinkler Systems
Full Submittals
Any new system, or existing system with over 12 new or relocated heads.
Over the Counter
Generally, existing systems with new or re-located heads up to 12, unless there is a change is design density flow area.
Fire Alarm
Full Submittals
New systems , or existing system with over 12 new or relocated devices
Over the Counter
AES installations. Existing systems with new or re-located devices up to 12.
Smoke Control/ Stairwell Pressurization
- A Conceptual Analysis is required with the building permit submittal.
- A deferred smoke control submittal is required to install.
